How much cost for life in VN?

One of the most important, but vague thing is living expences. We show you some guideline for your convenience.

• We strongly suggest you to solve financial issues before come to VN.
  • Officially the government prohibit any foreigner who have no permission to have job.
  • If you want to find job, you MUST have permission which should be got through your working organization.
  • Carry enough money from your home.
    
• Living expences in VN is expensive as far as you are a foreigner.
  • Most applicant estimate living expences too little.
  • Please consider following situation.
    • High accomodation cost
      • Airconditioned room
      • Permission from police required to let foreigner stay.
      • Cheap room have legal risk.
    • Things for foreigners are expensive.
      • If you have tea at hotel, it would be 10 USD or more per person.
    • High telecommunication fee
      • If you call your family, it would cost 100 USD in few minutes.
    • High utitilies charge
    • Living standard
      • Can you down your living standard for average level in Vietnam?
      • How much would it cost for food? How much do you eat now?
        
• Know-How for economy life
  • Make good relation with your host/hotel, and ask them to cook for you.
  • Save using airconditioner in your room. If your hotel has lobby space, you had better stay there during hot hours.
  • If your place buy new airconditioner for you, let them buy Inverter type airconditioner, which save up big million during yur stay. If they ask you additinal payment for expensive machine, you SHOULD burden that. You gan get back from running.
  • Check seal of your room.
  • For any machine, you should prepare electoronic stabilizer as quality of electricuty in VN is awful, or your Airconditioner, PC, etc. would be broken.
  • If your room has no fan at the ceiling, let the owner attach it. At night, fan would be enough.
